Not bad of for a quadruped” and “Don’t drive angry

From one of the all time best films of all time.

This is not a gun for your average shooter. In fact I’m not sure who it’s a gun for. It’s damn sure not for any one in this video, other than maybe the last shooter. I’d like to see the Mythbusters test this one on the “blown away” myth. The shooters DO get knocked down. I suspect buster would move back several feed if it by this mother of all rifles.

Hat Tip to Ace of Spades HQ

I woke up this morning at 3:50 AM with a splitting migraine. Took meds, sent boss an email saying I wasn’t sure if I would be in, went back to bed. Got up at 5:00 and took another. Another at 6:00 It’s now 7:00. I’ve taken the 4th of the allowed 5 epirin. There may be a trip to the ER in my future. Already warned my mother. And I can’t drive for a few hours either, so it’s going to be late getting to work.

I’m bipolar. I have Aspergers. I have migraines. I’m dyslexic. Those four alone makes my view of the world some what different than base line human. I don’t pay that much attention to popular culture. I have a very limited number of TV shows I watch (NCIS, Mythbusters, House MD, Law and Order CI, Burn Notice,Top Chef and Project Runway). Even then most of the time I watch on my DVR which means that I don’t see ads very often. I listen to NPR on the radio, which also cuts way down on the ads. I don’t watch sports of any sort. I don’t drink mega-brew beer.

I use Firefox on Linux as my primary web browser. I have Adblock Plus installed and have a pretty good set of filter attached to it, which means I don’t see internet ads either. Because I’m not using Windows, I don’t have the constant fight against malware, either at home or at work (work machine is a G5 iMac).

My primary means of entertainment is table top role playing games. This does involve contact with other people, they more or less live in my world, or at least understand what my world is.

This lack of contact with the main stream rises up and bites me in the butt every once and while, but all and all, I think I like my world better than the real world. Well, other than the migraines and bipolar part.

As per normal, the linky bits are over on the right (on the blog facebook people)

I slept through New Years Eve. Unlike last year I actually did it. No close neighbors helps.

So, as to New Years resolutions:

  1. Find a place for The Darling Wife and I to start over
  2. Loose weight. If going off of Zyprea alone doesn’t do it, hit the gym. Ideal weight would be 180 or so That 24 lbs to drop. Cutting soda from my diet (see below) and drinking a lot more tea instead should help
  3. Get my shit together with regards to work or get on disability
  4. Get at least one “module” in all 3 games I play “published”
  5. Drop corn syrup based soda and snacks from my diet. (Note: to self, order some Dublin Doctor Pepper)
  6. Post at least daily.
  7. Put in at least 30 minutes work on modules, daily
  8. Stop raiding the candy jar and eat real food when hungry
  9. Clean the house and keep it that way
  10. Fix the drains and the hole in the bath tub wall

Primary roads and highways are OK. Secondary road suck large thing through small tubes.

In no particular order:

  • Find a place for The Darling Wife and I to start over
  • Loose weight. If going off of Zyprea alone doesn’t do it, hit the gym. Ideal weight would be 180 or so

I may add to this list as the New Year approaches.

For your WTF moment of the day, I give you the PG Tips web site
Sock puppet monkey milking a cow for tea. *blink*

Why I will not be in the Iditarod.

Because my dogs don’t like the snow.

Some time to day it’s supposed to start snowing. Around get out of work time. Mother and I were going to go out to eat, but if it’s dropping 6″ of snow on us that’s not going to happen. I’m going to make a raid on the Reasors at 15th and Lewis and snag a bunch of cheeses and cold cuts so we can have a cheese tray for Christmas nom nom nom.

Speaking of Reasors, I wish they would get their act together and all carry the same stuff. The 15th and Lewis store doesn’t carry Jone’s Sugar cola. The 21st and Yale store doesn’t carry a nice selection “fancy” cheeses. Only the Broken Arrow Reasors normally has J&J fruit pies. This results in a some what scattered shopping trips. High end stuff, 15th and Lewis (plus they are my pharmacy). Soda 21st and Yale. Day to Day, Broken Arrow.

Is “teh suck”. Rain for the next two days, ending possible snow fall on Christmas day. Odds of any snow accumulation is damn near zero however, so it’s just going to be cold, wet, gray and miserable. Joy and happiness unto me and mine.

Bleh.

*update*
Change that snow accumulation to 3-7 inches expected to accumulate. This will be on top of rain, so Happy! Happy! slick roads!

Med change. More later

For the 4th Christmas in a row, I find my self totally broke, as in I owe the bank money AFTER I make my deposit. Days like today make it hard to keep going. Panic attack at 10:15 at work, followed by finding that I’m over drawn by more than my check was for. Going to make going to the doctor tricky, it is.

Here we have have Ashley hanging out on the cutting table in the sun room. This is her primary hanging out spot in the sun room, assuming you don’t include by the food bowls.

Ah, I don’t have any. Sorry.

But I’m sure some one, some place, will explain this record setting snow storm that is slapping the east coast is the result of global warming.

Oh, wait, that’s why they call it climate change now, not global warming.

*snort*

I tried to make a hot tea with milk/cream in it at QT this morning. Results, while better than their coffee, isn’t worth the buck forty. The artificial flavor in the in “french vanilla steamer” just about ruins the whole thing, plus low grade tea bags. Back to PG Tips teabags and real milk and/or half-n-half for real morning goodness. Of course for that I either have to make one to travel from home or wait until the shop opens, no time killing trip to QT in the AM.

Actually, my mother’s roof sucks. The “cheap” price to fix it for “12-20 years” was $3,900. Some one is coming by to look at it this morning for a second price. I’m going to ask the roofing guys in my office building to come out and have a look at it as well.

Given 1 24oz cup filled 2/3 with QT “normal” coffee and 1/3 of the cup filled with the French Vanilla “steamer”. (a QT steamer is hot milk with flavors. Or hot milk like substance, not quite sure on that.)
Even with a massive amount of sugar added, it’s just not as good as either the breakfast blend stuff I make at home, or better yet tea. (See yesterday), so the good news is I’m going to save 1.40 each morning now.

1 mug boiling water
1 PG Tips “pyramid” tea bag
5 sugar cubes
1/4 cup Land O’Lakes half/half

Yeah, it’s a cuppa, but it’s what I need. Well, 4-5 of them is what I need….

The birthday with The Darling Wife didn’t go as well as it could. Didn’t go a bad as it could either, so I’m calling it a draw.

On Dec 11, 2009.

That makes me 50.

What can I say? I’m 50, bipolar and living with my mother. I hope and pray that today with The Darling Wife goes the way I want it to, and that some time soon I get to start my life over, with her. This last year has really sucked. The next has got to be better or I don’t know what I’m going to do. I can’t make it through a days work. The meds are helping some, but not enough.

I’ve been planing my life around a lot of things changing around the turn of the year. Gaming stuff, work stuff, life stuff. Please God, let some of my plans work I can’t keep this up much longer.

I hate migraines. If some one came up to me and said that they could either cure my bipolar or my migraines I’m pretty sure I’d go with cure the migraines.

Of course that’s because I’m on day 3 of a come and go migraine and my don’t make me unstable meds are working more or less.

I know, I’m just randomly bitching, but damn it I hate migraines.

If your at your local full service food store, and your in the line for other than normal services (i.e. sending money to your sister in what ever little town she lives in on the east coast), the following are not things you want to hear from staff or other customers

  • “Need to reboot the whole coin counter system, it’s giving away to much money”
  • “I’ve got a fist full of lotto tickets here. Some are winners and some are spit cup fillers. Can you help me out here darling?”
  • Any thing said by or to a mother with 5 children in or on the cart.
  • “Blood clean up by butcher block, blood clean up rear aisle
    10″
  • Can I send money to Nigeria today?

Today, I decided to go hang out at the “local” game store, touch base, etc.

On the Broken Arrow Expressway I got pulled over for having expired tags. Add in my current lack of a drivers license and you have one pissed off cop. He decided to have the car towed, but to not arrest me.

One half mile or so walk later I’m at the Reasors at 109th and 41st, where I found a phone book and called a taxi on my newly recharged cell phone. Taxi dispatcher wants a call back number. I don’t know my cell number. I have to call him back with it. Cab arrives in 5 or so minutes and $18.00 later I’m back at home.

As it happens, nothing we can do about it until Monday, but it still blows chunks.

I’m coming off of Zyprexa and onto Invega. Early reports found on the interwebs give me high hopes. Among other things it may have some effect on some of my other issues. I’m taking half doses of Zyprexa and Invega for a week, then going to 6mg Invega.

The Red headed Girl got her childhood dog back. It seems to have issues with Jack (the shepard mix in this photo), the Darling Wife’s big dog. I’ve told TDW that I would be willing to take Jack if push comes to shove. Jack gets along fairly well with my dogs, so it shouldn’t be an issue. Plus no babies to worry about in the house.

I’m off my mood stabilizers today, at my doctors orders, to see if Geodon is causing my muscle pain. Early indicators is that it is. I don’t want to go back on Zyprex because I don’t want to weight 200+ pounds but on the other hand I would really like to not be in pain all the time. I’ll update this later today as the test goes on.
